Biography

Personal Life

Fabrice-Jean Picot was born in New York to a family of Haitian immigrants [2] . At the age of nine, he and his parents moved to Miami . At sixteen, he moved to Italy to join the academy of the club " Cagliari ", where he studied football for five years [3] .

Fafa is a third-generation football player: his maternal grandfather, Max Antoine, played for the Haitian national team [4] , and his father, Leslie Picot, played professionally in showball for the Philadelphia Fiver club in MISL [3] .

He is fluent in five languages: English, Haitian Creole, French, Italian and Spanish, speaks Portuguese and German a little [3] .

Club career

After the Combine of the North American Football League (NASL) in February 2012, Pico was signed by the Tampa Bay Raudis Club. Because of a broken leg that happened on the last day of the three-day combine, he missed the pre-season camp and the first six months of the season, and his professional debut took place on May 19, 2012 in a match against Atlanta Silverbacks [5] . As part of Raudis, Pico became the NASL champion of the 2012 season. After the end of the championship season, the club did not renew the contract with the player [6] .

In March 2014, Pico returned to NASL, signing a contract with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers Club [7] [8] . In the 2014 season, with 12 goals in 22 matches, he became the second best scorer in the league and was included in the symbolic team of the year [9] [10] . Pico from Fort Lauderdale Strikers reached the 2014 season finals, where they lost to San Antonio Scorpions .

In January 2015, Pico joined the Sparta Prague Championship Club [11] [12] . He left Sparta in the summer of 2015 [13] . In the Czech league, he never played once, but once entered the field in the Czech Cup - in the second quarter final match of the 2014/15 draw against Yablonets on April 14.

September 1, 2015 Pico signed with the club of the Second Bundesliga " St. Pauli " one-year contract with the possibility of extension for another year [14] . He made his debut in the second German division in the match against Duisburg on September 6, 2015. March 11, 2016 in the match against Paderborn scored his first goal in Germany. On April 29, 2016, St. Pauli extended the Pico contract until June 30, 2018 [15] .

In February 2017, Pico returned to the United States, signing a contract with the Philadelphia Union MLS club under the “1 + 2” scheme [16] [17] [18] . He made his debut in the highest American league in the match of the starting round of the season 2018 against the Vancouver Whitecaps on March 5 [19] . He scored his first goal for Philadelphia on May 13, 2016, having participated in the defeat of DC United with a score of 4: 0 [20] .

International Career

In December 2009, Pico participated in the training camp of the US youth team [21] .

Pico was called up to the national team of Haiti for a friendly match with the national team of Chile on September 9, 2014, [22] but did not appear on the field, remaining in the reserve.

In May 2016, Pico received a call from the US team in a transitional training camp in front of the Copa America Centenario and a friendly match with the Puerto Rico team [23] . In a match with Puerto Ricans, held on May 22, 2016, coming on as a substitute in the 71st minute instead of Bobby Wood , he made his debut for the US team [24] .
