Peregrin's syndrome is a phenomenon of spontaneous regression of cancer without any antitumor treatment. Regression can be complete - self-healing of a cancer patient both from the primary focus of the disease and from possible metastases , that is, the onset of complete remission . There are also cases of partial cancer regression - partial or complete "resorption" of the primary tumor, or metastases [1] .
The first mention of Peregrine's syndrome dates to the end of the 13th century. St. Peregrine ( Italian: Saint Peregrine (Pellegrino) Laziosi (Latiosi) ), a young priest, discovered a large bone tumor that required amputation . Surgery of those times could not help him, and St. Peregrine began to pray intensely, which, in his opinion, should have helped him. He died in 1345 , at the age of 80, with no signs of relapse [2] .
