Biography
He was born on November 20, 1934 in the family of the engineer Mark Lvovich and the housewife of the Rada Efimovna Zlotnikov. In Voronezh, Vitaly graduated from the school and the faculty of Romance-Germanic philology of the Voronezh State University . In 1968 he got married, in the same year the first book “Me and Jack” was published. The firstborn son soon appeared in the Zlotnikovs family - in 1969, the son Sasha was born, this event inspired the head of the family to write new children's works [1] .
In 1970, Vitaly Markovich and his family decided to move to the city of Dmitrov [2] . I wanted to be closer to the editorial offices of the central periodicals, where his children's stories had already begun to be published, and to the Soyuzmultfilm film studio , with which he had already begun to cooperate as a screenwriter for animated films [3] .
He died in 2000 in the city of Dmitrov.
Creativity
After graduating from VSU began to try their hand at literary career. Interesting children's stories of Zlotnikov appeared in newspapers and magazines. In 1968, the Central Chernozem Book Publishing House published his first book of short stories, “I and Jack,” and three years later the next book, New Jack's Adventures, was published there. The main characters in these books are puppy Jack and the boy Seryozha, on whose behalf the story is told.
In Dmitrov, Vitaly Markovich wrote most of his short stories and screenplays. It was published in the metropolitan magazines "Murzilka ", "Pioneer" , " Student Meridian ", " Change ", " Youth " and in such prestigious for authors of large-circulation newspapers as "The Week" and " Literary Russia ". In 1995, a book of short stories, The Hare in Love, was published in Moscow.
The main characters of Zlotnikov’s books are animals that have been given curious and naive childish characters.
In animation, he worked with directors VG Arbekov , L.L. Kayukov , V.M. Kotenochkin et al. [4] . The cartoon “The Kitten from Lizyukov Street” (directed by V. Kotenochkin, 1988) was particularly successful.

Recognition
Zlotnikov had many awards in various competitions. For the essay "Restless character" in the magazine "Civil Aviation" won the III prize in 1981. The third prize was awarded for the essay "Rainbow over Lake Baikal" in the newspaper "Forest Industry" in 1984. In 1993 - I Prize, as the best author in the journal " Misha ".
Many cartoons produce books not only in Russian, but also in other languages: Bulgarian, Spanish, German, Polish, Swedish; therefore, Zlotnikov's work is known and loved in different parts of the world [1] .
In Voronezh, in 2003, a monument to the Kitten was placed on Lizyukov Street - the hero of an animated film.
