History

It was founded in 1952 with headquarters in Tokyo with the assistance of the boxing commissions of Japan, Korea and the Philippines. Over time, the commissions of many other Asian countries joined the federation, which significantly expanded its scope. Initially, it was called the Oriental Boxing Federation ( English Orient Boxing Federation ), but in 1977, after the accession of the Australian National Boxing Federation, it was renamed the Eastern and Pacific Boxing Federation ( English Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation ).

Since 1963, the OPBF has been working closely with the World Boxing Council (WBC), being an affiliate with it [1] .
