Biography

Pupil of Tula football. In 1951, began to play for the Tula “Zenith” in the KFK competitions, was one of the team’s top scorers [1] .

At the end of the 1952 season he moved to the Kuibyshev “ Wings of the Soviets ”. The debut match for the team in class “A” was played on June 14, 1953, substituting in the game against Kiev Dynamo [2] . He scored his first goal in the major league on July 21, 1953 at the goal of Dynamo Leningrad [3] . He became a finalist of the USSR Cup in 1953, participated in the final match against Dynamo Moscow , and injured Lev Yashin in this game, because of which he had to be replaced.

In 1955, he played for Shakhtar (Stalin), but did not gain a foothold.

In 1957-1958 he played in class “B” for the North Caucasian Military District (Sverdlovsk) , was the leading striker of the team. In 1958, he scored 33 goals in 35 matches and became the winner of the Class B zone tournament.

In 1959 he moved to Moscow CSKA . For the first time he scored a goal in the first minute of his first match, May 2, 1959, bringing victory in the match with the Moscow “Torpedo” (1: 0) [4] . He spent two seasons with the army. During this period he was called up to the second national team of the USSR, participated in the match against the second national team of Romania [5] .

In total, he played 47 matches in the major league of the USSR championship and scored 7 goals.

In 1961 he returned to Tula and played for the local " Labor ". Twice he was expelled from the team “for a systematic violation of the sports regime, drunkenness and arrogant attitude towards his comrades and coaches” [6] and, as a result, ended his career.

Further fate is not known.
