Mimi Ivanova Ribinsk (born December 28, 1946 in Hisarya , Bulgaria ) is a famous Bulgarian pop singer .

Since childhood, she sang and accompanied on the accordion , the class of which she studied at a music school. In 1966 she graduated from a secondary music school in Plovdiv , specializing in vocals. The first professional appearance on stage for Mimi Ivanova was a concert tour in Moscow and Odessa in 1966 [1] , together with the jazz orchestra of the Plovdiv House of the People’s Army under the direction of Veselin Nikolov. In 1973–74, Mimi lives and works in Poland , where he performs with “Andrzej and Elise” and “No-so-tso”.

In 1976, with Razvigor Popov, he created the “Start” group [1] .

The first single of the singer was released in 1972 by Melody in the USSR, and the first long-playing album by the Bulgarian company Balkanton in 1975. Many songs in Mimi Ivanova’s albums were written to the music of her husband, Razvigor Popov, as well as composers Zornitsa Popova , Atanas Kosev , Nayden Andreev , Toncho Rusev , Maria Ganeva and others [1] .

In 1992, together with Razvigor Popov, he opened a music school with the teaching of solfeggio and playing the synthesizer. The school exists at the House of Culture named after Tsanko Tserkovsky (reading room "Tsanko Tserkovsky") in Sofia.

In 2001, Mimi Ivanova made her debut on the stage. At the invitation of the director of the municipal Renaissance theater, Mimi played Lisa in the children's play “Grandma’s Loaf”, along with professional actors - Mara Chapanova , Daniel Tsochev , Zornitsa Marinkova and others. The author of the music for the play is Razvigor Popov, and the director is Georgi Georgiev. The performance went on with great success in the following seasons.

In 2018, Ivanova spoke with her husband at a concert in the framework of the XV Russophile Cathedral near the Koprinka reservoir . In addition to her hits, she performed the song "Alyosha" in Russian. [2]

  • 1978 - Festival "Songs of the Sea" in the city of Rostock (GDR) - third prize
  • 2006 - the singer was nominated and awarded the “Crystal Lyre” of the Union of Music and Dance Figures of Bulgaria.

Song Awards

In the television competition “Melody of the Year” (1976) - the first place with the song “Slence in my hair” (“The Sun in My Hair”). She also repeatedly received awards of the summer radio contest Yavorova Span [3] , prizes of the Golden Orpheus competition (1974, 1975, 1979).
