Erkki Huttunen ( Fin. Erkki Juhani Huttunen ; May 18, 1901 , Alavus , Grand Duchy of Finland - November 17, 1956 , Helsinki , Finland ) is a Finnish functionalist architect who has built a large number of public and private buildings in different cities of Finland over the years of his short career.

Content
Biography
A graduate of the Helsinki Polytechnic Institute (1927), where, in addition to architecture, he studied drawing and painting. At the beginning of his career, he worked as a newspaper illustrator, portrait painter and cartoonist. During his studies and later made many educational trips to European countries: Italy, France, Great Britain, Greece, as well as to the USA.
After graduation, he was hired by the SOK cooperative company ( Finnish. Suomen Osuuskauppojen Keskuskunta , today S-group ( Finnish. S-ryhmä )) and prepared for her numerous projects of industrial, warehouse and office buildings in a functionalistic style in Joensuu , Sortavala , Oulu , Vaasa , Rauma , Kotka , Vyborg and other cities.
In 1937 he received a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Paris [1] .
From 1939 to 1942, Huttunen headed this construction department, from 1942 to 1953 he was the head of the Finnish Construction Directorate ( Finnish Rakennushallitus ).
In 1931-1956 also worked in his own architectural bureau. Among his other buildings - the city council building in Kotka and Lauritsala , the church in Nakkil .
