Biography
At the end of 1898 or at the beginning of 1899, the king of Simeon Riro Kaynga together with Juan Tepano went to Valparaiso . The king wanted to express dissatisfaction with the government of Chile over the activities of the company Williams-Balfour, which owned most of the land on the annexed island of Chile Easter. The Rapanuiites also planned to join the Maipol regiment of the Chilean army to take part in the Pacific War . However, shortly after his arrival, the king began to abuse alcohol heavily and soon died. Rumors that the king was poisoned quickly scattered on the island [1] .
