Tashkent Medical Academy [1] (abbreviation TMA ) is a higher medical educational institution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Tashkent Medical Academy was formed on the basis of the abolished First and Second Tashkent State Medical Institutions [2] by Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan I.A. Karimova No. UP - 3629 dated July 19, 2005. It is the best university among all medical and the sixth among all universities of the Republic
The main objectives of the Academy:
- ensuring the training of highly qualified medical personnel in order to qualitatively improve the provision of medical care to the population and participate in improving the structure of the healthcare system;
- coordination and methodological management of medical universities of the country as the leading educational institution in the republic on the training, retraining and advanced training of medical personnel, as well as on conducting research in the field of medicine, healthcare, and the formation of a healthy lifestyle;
- identification of promising areas for training medical personnel, the formation of a preventive focus in the activities of doctors taking into account environmental changes in the environment;
The structure of the university includes 6 faculties, 49 departments of socio-humanitarian, medical-biological, medical-prophylactic and clinical profile, as well as a central research laboratory.
The clinical departments of TMA are located in specialized medical and diagnostic departments of three powerful clinics of the Academy. The Academy also has at its disposal a magnificent museum of the history of medicine, where everyone can learn more about the past, present and future of medical science, in particular the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Academy employs about 1000 teachers, including 190 doctors of sciences, over 600 candidates of sciences, academicians, corresponding members, honorary academics of foreign academies, honored scientists, honored doctors, honored educators.
Today, the rector of the Tashkent Medical Academy is Professor Tuychiev Laziz Nadirovich
