Biography

Bac John Sop was born on July 5, 1980.

He achieved the first serious success at the international level in the 2002 season when he joined the main team of the South Korean national team and visited the Asian Games in Busan , from where he brought the silver dignity award won in the light weight category standings - he lost to Uzbeks in the final final match. Dilshod Makhmudov .

In 2003, he won the silver medal at the Afro-Asian Games in India and spoke at the World Championships in Bangkok , where he was stopped at the quarter-finals stage by the award-winning Cuban Mario Kindelan .

In 2004, he won the Asian Championship in Puerto Princesa and, thanks to a series of successful performances, won the right to defend the honor of the country at the Summer Olympics in Athens - in the category up to 60 kg, he successfully passed the first two rivals in the tournament grid, while in the third quarterfinal fight ahead of schedule in the first round was defeated by the representative of the UK Amir Khan .

After the Athens Olympics, Pac remained in the South Korean boxing team and continued to take part in major international competitions. So, in 2005, he boxed at the world championship in Mianyang , where in the quarterfinals he lost to Cuban Yordenis Ugas .

In 2006, he represented the country at the Asian Games in Doha ; here, at the preliminary stage, he was defeated by the Mongolian Uranchimegyin Monkh-Erdene .

He took the second place in the Asian Olympic qualification in Bangkok and was selected for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing - this time in a category up to 60 kg he managed to win only one opponent, in the quarterfinals he had to meet with Armenian Grachya Javakhyan , but could not reach Ring due to injury.

In the 2010/11 season, he played for the Korean team “ Pokhokhansky Poseidons ” in the semi-professional league of WSB , was noted here with a victory over Kazakhstan boxer Merey Akshalov [1] .
