Silver medalist of the Italian championships of 1948 and 1970. (in 1948, he shared 1-2 places with V. Castaldi , but lost an extra match). Bronze medalist of the Italian championships of 1953 and 1954.
Six-time winner of the Italian team championship (twice as part of the team of the Roman Academy of Chess, four times as part of the team of municipal employees of Rome).
The winner of the international tournament in Milan (1953; shared 1-2 places with E. Santaciere ).
Member of strong international tournaments in Venice (1948 and 1950).
In the Italian national team, he participated in five chess Olympiads , the Clara Benedict Cup and a number of international team matches.
In 1973, together with A. Dzikiki , S. Tatai , Bonfoli, and also with his son R. Primavera, he founded the organization “AMIS” (“Association of Italian Chess Masters”).
In the years 1973-1974. published the magazine Tutto Schacchi. [one]
