Ground

The history of KaR-Tel LLP begins in 1998 in the city of Almaty , which was an integral part of the well-known Turkish telecommunications consortium of Rumeli Telecom OJSC and Telsim Mobil Telekomunikasyon Hizmetleri. On August 24, 1998, the company received a state license to provide cellular services of the GSM standard. On February 19, 1999, the K-Mobile network was launched into commercial operation, and in the autumn of the same year, KaR-Tel TOO issued a second card brand under the K-Card trademark.

K-Card and EXCESS Brands

In 2002, the company decided to upgrade its card brand K-Card to the new modern EXCESS. Starting December 9, 2002, all K-Card subscribers automatically became EXCESS subscribers.

VimpelCom Share Sale

On September 14, 2004, representatives of the Russian OJSC Vympel Communications officially announced their victory in the tender and the signing of an agreement to acquire the second-largest mobile operator of Kazakhstan , KaR-Tel, for $ 350 million, taking on about $ 75 million of debt .

On April 26, 2005, KaR-Tel LLP announced the launch of the Beeline brand in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since July 1, 2007 KaR-Tel LLP unites the K-Mobile, Beeline and Excess brands into a single Beeline brand.

Currently, Beeline brand successfully operates in Kazakhstan.

Creating a DOS brand

In 2011, in response to the launch of the new Tele2 discount operator, in order to block the leakage of subscribers, KaR-Tel LLP quite quickly launches the DOS sub-brand, which coincides with the launch of the Tele2 operator in Almaty .

In 2012, KaR-Tel LLP published that from October 1 all DOS brand service offices will be closed, and customer service will be carried out in all Beeline offices. As reported in the press, in an interview with CEO Sergey Mironov, the Beeline brand is undergoing global changes and the DOS brand will leave the market, reuniting with Beeline, motivating this by focusing on one thing, while the company itself intends to move from Almaty city to the capital Nur Sultan .

Starting November 27, 2012, all Beeline tariffs and services are available for DOS subscribers, thereby DOS subscribers become fully Beeline subscribers. The DOS brand did not last a year, although the company claimed that they had come seriously and for a long time. Brand tagline: DOS - I give my word!
