Career

Pressley spent the first three years of high school at the American Heritage Academy in Carrollton . After the baseball program was closed there, he transferred to Edward Marcus High School in Flower Mound. During his studies, Ryan also played football in the position of defensive back, but in 2006 received a knee injury and focused on baseball [1] . As a child, his idol was a native of Texas, a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, Nolan Ryan [2] .

In 2007, in the 11th round of the draft, Major League Baseball Pressly was selected by the Boston Red Sox club. He gave up his intention to enter the Texas Tech University and signed a contract with the club. For five years, Ryan played in the clubs of the Red Sox farm system, where he was seen as the starting pitcher. Only in 2012, the club management transferred him to bullpen , where Pressly showed himself much brighter. He spent the last month of the season in the AA League at Portland Sea Dogs, and then successfully performed in the Arizona Autumn League. In December 2012, a Minnesota pickup was taken by Ryan Rule 5 in draft pick [1] .

In Major League Baseball Pressly debuted on April 4, 2013. As part of the Twins, he spent five and a half years, having spent 281 games during this time, having gained 17 wins with 16 defeats with an ERA transmittance of 3.75. In July 2018, Minnesota traded Ryan to the Houston Astros on Jorge Alcalu and Gilberto Celestino . The contract with Astros will be valid until the end of the 2019 season [2] [3] .
