Bernardo Comas Aguilera ( Spanish: Bernardo Comas Aguilera ; born November 14, 1960 , Colombia ) is a Cuban boxer , middleweight. He played for the Cuban boxing team in the period 1980-1986, the world champion, winner of the Pan American Games, champion of the Games of Central America and the Caribbean, winner and winner of many tournaments of international importance, three-time champion of the Cuban national championship. Also known as a boxing trainer.

Biography
Bernardo Comas was born November 14, 1960 in the municipality of Colombia , Las Tunas Province , Cuba .
The first serious success at the adult international level was achieved in the 1980 season, when he joined the Cuban national team and played at the Giraldo Cordoba Cardin home international tournament, where he became the silver medalist in the middleweight category.
In 1981 he won the Friendship junior tournament in the GDR, became the silver medalist of the Cuban national championship and the Giraldo Cordoba Cardin tournament.
He won one of the most significant victories in his sports career in the 1982 season, having defeated all opponents at the World Championships in Munich , including in the finals he defeated the Finnish Tarmo Uusivirta . He was also the best at home games in Central America and the Caribbean in Havana .
In 1983, he won the Pan American Games in Caracas , won the AIBA Challenge Matches and Giraldo Cordoba Cardin tournaments. He received a silver medal at the North American Championship in Houston, where he was stopped by the American Virgil Hill , the future world champion among professionals, in the decisive final match.
In 1984, he finally became the middleweight boxing champion of Cuba. He was supposed to take part in the Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles , but Cuba, along with several other countries of the socialist camp, boycotted these competitions for political reasons. Instead, Comas performed at the Friendship 84 alternative tournament, where he won a gold medal.
He defeated all rivals in the 1985 Cuba Championship, won the Giraldo Cordoba Cardin tournament, won silver at the Central American and Caribbean Championships in Venezuela, where he lost to local Venezuelan boxer Carlos Herrera.
The last time he showed any significant results in boxing in 1986, in particular this season he won again the Cuban national championship [1] .
After completing his sports career, he worked as a boxing trainer in Camaguey . Collaborated with the national teams of Venezuela and El Salvador.
