Georgy Markelovich Sidorov (born January 21, 1961 , village of Tashtamak , Aurgazinsky district , BASSR , RSFSR ) is a Soviet and Russian engineer, scientist and inventor in the field of scientific development, design, manufacture and installation of non-standard equipment for oil refining and petrochemicals. Doctor of Technical Sciences , Professor of Ufa State Petroleum Technical University . Honored Inventor of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology and the State Prize of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the field of science and technology.

Biography
Georgy Markelovich Sidorov was born on January 21, 1961 in the village of Tashtamak, Aurgazinsky District, BASSR.
- 1980 : graduated with honors from the Sterlitamak Chemical-Technological College with a degree in Equipment for Chemical and Oil and Gas Processing Plants and entered the Ufa Petroleum Institute;
- 1985 : graduated with honors from the Ufa Petroleum Institute and qualified as a mechanical engineer with a degree in Machines and Apparatuses for Chemical Production;
- 1985–1988: worked at the Ufa Rubber Products Plant: shift foreman, head of non-standard equipment;
- 1988–2005: engineer, researcher, leading researcher at the Department of Processes and Apparatuses of Chemical Technology, UNI / USTU;
- 1993 : defended his thesis on the theme: “Development and implementation of energy-saving technology for the fractionation of oil”, supervisor - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor A. A. Kondratiev. Awarded the degree of “Candidate of Technical Sciences”;
- 1999 : defended his thesis on the theme: “Development and implementation of energy-saving technology for fractionation of oil mixtures using complex columns with partially connected flows”. Awarded the degree of “Doctor of Technical Sciences”;
- 2005—2007: Deputy Chief Engineer for Technology and Development of Caustic OJSC, Sterlitamak;
- 2008 - 2009 : project manager of the Ufa Transformer Plant;
- 2009— 2012 : Deputy Director of the Cascade Research and Engineering Center;
- Since 2012: Professor, Department of Oil and Gas Technology, Ufa State Oil Technical University.

Professor G. M. Sidorov is the author and co-author of more than 200 scientific papers, including 39 inventions.
