Biography
Born April 21, 1971 in Athens, in the family of Mary and Christos Nikolopulosov.
He graduated from the Faculty of Law, and then the Theological Institute of the University of Athens . After that he studied at the graduate school of the University of Groningen with a specialization in law (Byzantine-Roman law).
On December 7, 1997, at the Antinitsis Monastery, Metropolitan Nicholas Fthiotis (Protopapas) was tonsured a monk with the name of Jerome, and on December 14, 1997 he was ordained a hierodeacon in the church of St. Eleferius in Athens.
On December 6, 2000, he was ordained a hieromonk and elevated to the rank of archimandrite .
On October 5, 2008, at a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church, he was elected to be ordained Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnava [1] and on October 7 of the same year he was ordained a bishop by a host of hierarchs led by the Archbishop of Athens, Jerome (Liapis) .
In addition to native Greek, speaks English, German, Dutch and Turkish.
