Biography

Born on June 8, 1964 at the Kalacheevsky state farm of the Voronezh region. Later, he moved to Voronezh with his family. He began to engage in freestyle wrestling in 1974 , together with his younger brother Eugene (later a master of sports of the USSR ).
He played for Dynamo (Voronezh) in the weight category up to 82 kg. Train under the guidance of Honored Trainers of the RSFSR S. I. Gorozhankin and V. N. Fedyukin.
From 1984 to 1988, he was a member of the USSR national freestyle wrestling team. This period saw the greatest success in his sports career, when he won the World Cup , became the winner of the World Cup and twice won the championships of the USSR . He played at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul , where after losing only one fight, he took only 4th place.
He graduated from the Voronezh State Institute of Physical Culture (1987).
After completing his sports career, he was engaged in business in Moscow and Voronezh. He later switched to coaching. He worked as a trainer at Voronezh State University . Head coach of the Voronezh region in freestyle wrestling. [one]
