Club career

Aryan was born in the family of football player Harald Berg . Aurian's younger brother, Runar , also became a footballer. At first, Berg - like his father - played in Bodø-Glimt, which included both the Second and the First Division . In 1988, Rosenborg coach Niels Arne Eggen invited Berg and his teammate Jan Ivar Jacobsen to the club, they scored a “golden double” in their debut season in the Norwegian top division .

After two seasons at Rosenborg in 1990, Berg was sold to the Swiss club Wettingen , where he played for one season. Then he played for Munich 1860 and Basel , and in 1996 he returned to his native club Bodø-Glimt.

In “Bodo-Glimt”, which rose to the top division, Berg played for three seasons. In 1996, he reached the finals of the Norwegian Cup , where he lost to Tromsø . In 1999, Rosenborg needed to strengthen the roster before the Champions League , so Berg returned to Rosenborg.

In the middle of the 2006 season, he returned to his hometown of Bodø, trying to recover from the injuries that had plagued him for almost two years. In the event of recovery, he promised to return to the Rosenborg camp during pre-season training in early 2007 - this year was his last season in accordance with his contract. However, later it became clear that his injury was more serious, and he decided to terminate the contract a year earlier. His official football farewell ceremony took place during the break of the Rosenborg vs Viking match on October 29th.

International Career

Berg made his Norwegian national team debut in 1988, but after joining Egil Olsen as coach, Berg rarely became a member of the team. He got a second chance when in 1998 Nils Johan Semb headed Norway, so Berg again played for the national team ten years after his debut. He spent a total of 19 matches, scoring one goal [1] . His last match for the national team took place in February 2000 - it was a friendly game against Sweden . In 2002, Berg announced that he was leaving the national team.
