Final
The finals in the women's 3000m hurdles took place on August 12, 2018 [2] . The pace of the race was set by Fabienne Schlumpf from Switzerland, who from the start led the group of leaders. A kilometer before the finish line, she gradually began to increase speed, which only three other runners could support: Geza-Felicitas Krause , Carolina Grovdal and Louise Gega . The current champion Krause followed the Swiss, and in front of the last water hole she began the final spurt, which Schlumpf could not answer [3] .
The German runner became the first two-time European champion in the 3000m hurdle race. In terms of results, the final was the best in the history of the competition: the best seconds were shown for the places from the second to the fifteenth, and faster than Krause at the European Championships they only ran twice (moreover, one of them was she herself two years earlier ).
