In the early 2000s, XML formats, RSS feeds and widgets appeared. Therefore, initially the company's activities were closely connected with them and mainly directed to the consumer market. But later Klipfolio Inc. focused on dashboards for business intelligence.

Klipfolio is an online platform for creating real-time informative business dashboards. The service allows receiving data from a variety of sources, automating scenarios for sampling this data, and managing their visualization.
Klipfolio architecture is simple and does not require programming knowledge. Thanks to this architecture, any user can easily connect to data sources directly from the Klipfolio interface without special technical skills. Distribute them in such a way that the same source can be effectively used in several dashboards and vice versa, several sources can be used in one dashboard.
Klipfolio has a built-in formula editor with which you can convert, combine and filter any data before rendering.
Users get access to dashboards from their laptops, tablets, smartphones. Dashboards can be shared with your colleagues by sending a direct link or providing access via e-mail.
History
Serence - the so-called Canadian company in 2001, which created the Klipfolio platform. Its founders Allan Wille (CEO) and Peter Matthews (Chief Experience Officer - CXO) saw their mission in creating a simple application for collecting data from different sources into a single place for their simple presentation in presentations.
The first version of Klipfolio appeared later that year. To fill the clips (windows for displaying indicators) Klipfolio used an RSS reader.
In 2002, the application became more “developed”. Using JavaScript, it has become easier for developers to create and edit clips. In addition, the company adopted a philosophy aimed at design excellence.
To avoid problems related to integration, a group of researchers and developers chose their own internal systems: an XML parser, an HTTP stack, and a new CSS-based architecture. This development was created and placed in a package of basic code of less than 500 KB in size.
The Klipfolio platform was one of the first desktop applications known today as Rich Internet Applications.
By 2017, the company's focus was on BI solutions . The business began to use the Klipfolio platform to display information on KPI in a convenient form for them from various systems (accounting systems, CRM, analytics systems, etc.)
In 2008, Serence was renamed Klipfolio Inc. Rebranding was necessary for the popularity of the Klipfolio platform to help Serence become more popular. Thus, the company has clearly determined for itself what will be engaged in the development of dashboards, helping business in operational management.
In 2011, Klipfolio Inc. I began to position my service as cloudy.
