The Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Trials Championship 2015 ( Eng. 2015 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Trials ) was held from March 11 to 15, 2015 in Ottawa ( Ontario ). The championship was held for the third time. ^[2]

The winning team of the championship got the right to represent Canada as the “ Team of Canada ” ( Eng. Team Canada ) at the 2015 World Championships , which was held in April 2015 in Sochi ( Russia ).

The champion (for the first time in the history of the championship) was Charlie Thomas / Cailin Park , who defeated Bowie Abbis-Mills / Tess Bobbie in the final. The bronze medals were won in the semifinals by Hugh Murphy / Janet Murphy and David Mathers / Lynn Krevyazak .

Tournament Format

At the first, group stage ( Eng. Robin round ) teams are divided into 4 groups of 8 teams and play in a circular system in one circle. The three best teams from each group go to the second stage, playoffs . At the playoff stage, conducted according to the Olympic system , in the first “round of 12 teams” ( English Round of 12 ) there are teams that took 2nd and 3rd places in the group stage. The winners of the “round of 12 teams” go to the quarter finals, where they meet with teams that took 1st place in the groups. The winners of the quarter finals meet in the semifinals, the winners of the semifinals in the finals. Match for 3rd place is not held. ^[2]
