Biography
Early became an orphan, he was raised by an older brother. In school, he studied abroad in Japan. In 1918 he moved to China, lived in Shanghai.
In 1919, he participated in the creation of the Provisional National Assembly of Korea, becoming its deputy. On April 23, he was appointed deputy foreign minister of the Provisional Government of Korea .
In August 1919, he was appointed Deputy Minister, and in September, Minister of Justice, and in September 1920, Minister of Foreign Affairs. In the 1930s. worked as an English teacher at the University of China.
In May 1940 he was appointed to the Provisional Government of Korea, and in 1944 he was again appointed Minister of the Interior of the Provisional Government.
In May 1948, he was elected to the National Assembly of Korea. From August 1948 to May 1954, its chairman.
In 1955, he was involved in the creation of the Democratic Party and became its fourth leader. In 1956, he ran for president, but died suddenly shortly after the start of the election campaign. In summing up the results of the November elections, his name was included on the ballot and almost half of those who came to the polls voted for him.
