Biography
Jessica Cox was born without both hands on February 2, 1983 in the city of Sierra Vista ( Arizona , USA ), in the family of William Cox and Ines Cox. Jessica has a brother Jason and a sister Jackie [4] . From 10 years old, the girl began to practice taekwondo , and after four years she received her first black belt . At age 14, the girl decided to abandon the use of prostheses [4] . Then, in 1997, she and her family moved to the city of Tucson [4] . Later, in college and university, Cox resumed training and soon received a black belt of the second dan [2] [1] [4] . Using legs instead of arms, she can, among other things, drive a regular (non- ) car [1] without any restrictions [5] , type on a computer keyboard at a speed of 25 words per minute [6] , remove and put on contact lenses [5] , comb your hair, talk on the phone [2] , refuel your plane [1] and remove the candy wrapper from chewing gum [4] . Coke is also a certified scuba diver ( 1) .
In 2005, Cox graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor of psychology [4] and in the same year began to study as an airplane pilot. On October 10, 2008 [6] she received a license to operate the [2] light monoplane, model 1946 [1] , becoming the first pilot in the world without both hands. The training took three years instead of the usual 6 months, during which Cox flew 89 hours [2] .
After this achievement, Cox became a motivational speaker , and she speaks outside the United States [1] .
In 2014, Cox overcame the forty-mile (64.4 km) segment of one of the largest cycling competitions in the USA - El Tour de Tucson [7] .
In 2015, Cox released an autobiographical book such as "Help Yourself" called Disarm Your Limits [8] [9] . In the same year, the documentary "Right Footed" was released , dedicated to Jessica Cox [10] [11] .
Jessica Cox inspired Arab female engineer to create a foot-only driving system [12] .
Jessica Cox is married to Patrick Chamberlain [13] [7] .
