Biography
The son of a lawyer and baroness de Oliveira Castro, Correa was born in Brazil in 1876. In 1892, Correa moved from Brazil, first to Lisbon , and then, in 1894, to Paris , where he studied painting.
He married the 17-year-old Blanche Barban, daughter of engraving artist Charles (Karl) Barban. Family [ Whose? ] was against this marriage and refused to help him financially.
After the wedding, a young couple settled in Brussels . Here in 1900 the artist opens his studio.
In 1903, Correa creates a series of 132 original illustrations for the science fiction novel “ War of the Worlds ” by HG Wells . They were first published in 1906, in the publication of the novel in French . In 1910, some of the artist’s illustrations accompanied the Russian publication of the novel in the magazine World of Adventures .
Enrique Correa died on June 7, 1910 in Brussels from tuberculosis , in the 35th year of life. He left two children.

Facts
- In 1914, during World War I , the artist’s studio in Brussels was looted and destroyed by the Germans. In 1942, the German ship with the originals of graphic works of Correa and copper engravings, was sunk.
