Quintus Vokonii Saksa Fidus ( Latin Quintus Voconius Saxa Fidus ; died after 162) - statesman and military figure of the Roman Empire during the reign of Antoninus .
Biography
He came from the influential plebeian clan Vokoniev and, thus, was a descendant of the author of the well-known sumptuary law , the tribune of 169 BC. e. the same name .
However, nothing is known about Quint's parents, and his civic career can only be judged by the inscriptions found . So, in an unspecified year, he held the post of judicial decemvir in civil matters. After he served as a military tribune in the III and XII legions; at the same time, he showed valor in the campaigns against Armenia in 114 and Parthia in 115-117 (for which he was noted by Emperor Trajan ).
In 127, Adrian appointed Saxu as a questor , the prophet of the province of Macedonia . Presumably, in the same period he held the posts of a plebeian tribune and praetor . Later, in 132/133 Acted as the caretaker of the Tiburtinskaya road . In 141 he was appointed legate of the IV Legion ; over the course of the next two years, he governed Bithynia as propretor . Being the imperial legate-prophetor, in 143 he was sent to Lycia and Pamphylia .
Upon the return of Quintus to Rome , in July 146, Antoninus Pius made him consul- suffice along with Guy Annianus Verus . In 161, already as proconsul , Sachs ruled Africa , where he remained until 162. His further fate is unknown.
