Biography
He worked as a mechanic at the Grozny TPP-2 . In 1976 he graduated from Moscow University. He went from assistant to the first vice-rector of the Chechen-Ingush State University . His scientific specialization was the economic and demographic problems of the North Caucasus . Since 1985, with the beginning of perestroika , he became an activist in the social movements Dosh ( Chech. Slovo ) and Nokhchich ( Chech. Chechnya ) [1] .
After coming to power, Dzhokhar Dudaev was appointed Minister of Economics and Finance [1] .
In January 1995, together with Usman Imaev, he led the delegation of Ichkeria at negotiations with the federal side on the cessation of hostilities [2] [3] .
One of Dudaev’s associates Musa Temishev spoke about Abubakarov: “... One of the main robbers of Ichkeria ... he was one of the largest and most rabid predators” [4] .
The head of the justice newspaper Lecha Saligov wrote:
| The modest Ph.D. Taimaz Abubakarov had a hand in everything: he signed licenses for the export of petroleum products, allocated and guaranteed loans, reorganized the state apparatus and much, much more. At the same time, “darling” Taymaz did not make enemies for himself, but the president became more and more of them [4] . |
He was accused by Dudaev of financial abuse and moved to Moscow [5] .
