Cherkasy Medical Academy ( Ukrainian: Cherkaska Medical Academy ) is a higher educational institution in the city of Cherkassy, Cherkasy region .

Content
History
The educational institution was established and began training in 1930 as a medical technical school of feldsher-obstetric specialization [1] , in 1933 the training of the first specialists was completed.
After the start of World War II, in connection with the approach of the front line to the city, the educational institution stopped working, but after the liberation of the city by Soviet troops in December 1943 it was restored and resumed work [2] [3] .
In 1993, the technical school became the first educational institution in Ukraine to begin training nurses with higher education ( bachelors of medicine).
In 1997, the Vatutinsky Medical School became a branch of the Cherkasy Medical College [4] .
In 1998, the Cherkasy Medical College was transformed into the Cherkasy Medical College .
In 2004, the college began training pharmacists.
In 2015, the college began training paramedics for the armed forces and other state power structures of Ukraine.
On December 16, 2016, by the decision of the Cherkasy Regional Council, the Cherkasy Medical College was renamed the Cherkasy Medical Academy [5] .
In September 2018, the Academy became the first educational institution in Ukraine to begin training for paramedics .
Current status
The Academy is a state higher educational institution of the IV level of accreditation, which trains junior medical specialists in six specialties: "Health Protection", "Medicine", "Nursing", "Dentistry", "Pharmaceuticals" and "Medical Diagnostics and Treatment Technologies".
