Kashirin Street (Ryazan)

The street appeared in the XVIII century in connection with the approval of the regular city plan by Catherine II . In 1787, the building of the first Ryazan theater, called the "Opera House", appeared on Konyushennaya. The building of the theater burned down in a major city fire of 1837. Later, in its place appeared an area called the Artillery Ground - on it were the barracks of the artillery regiment. Since the beginning of the 19th century, Konyushennaya Street and its environs has become a district of various military institutions - in addition to the barracks, it houses the building of the Detention Company (guardhouse). After the October Revolution, an artillery school was located in the barracks building.

In 1961, Konyushennaya Street was renamed in honor of the Hero of the Soviet Union Alexei Ivanovich Kashirin . For this reason, a memorial plaque was installed on the house number 4. In the mid-60s, the city hospital No. 8 was opened in the reconstructed building of the former arresting companies. In the late 80s, Kashirin Street got access to the constructed Northern Ring Road.
