Servon-sur-Vilen

Servon was based on the intersection of two Roman roads: from Nantes to Avranches and from Paris to Rennes , in the vicinity of the commune you can still find their traces. In the Middle Ages, the lords of Servon built a castle on the banks of Vilena, allowing them to control the road and ford across the river.

In the middle of the 19th century, the founding workshop Brisou was opened in Servon, producing sewers and gutters preserved in large numbers. Production closed in the 1990s.

Since 2008, the post of mayor of Cervon-sur-Vilen has been held by Joseph Jan. In the 2014 municipal elections, the left bloc headed by him won in the 1st round, receiving 54.41% of the vote.
