The name of the lake was given by the inhabitants of the Cossack farm Zlivka in the XVIII - XIX centuries. Approximately in these places there was a town of Don Cossacks Sukharev, which was destroyed for the support of K. Bulavin, and all the territories were transferred to the administration of the Sloboda residents.
Lake Chernetskoe is part of the National Natural Park "Holy Mountains" [3] .
