Archbishop Avraamy (in the world Avraamy Georgievich Ivanov ; 1867, Asia Minor no later than 1930, Sukhumi) - bishop of the Georgian Orthodox Church at rest, in 1923-1927 - the renovationist Archbishop of Sukhumi, until 1922 - priest of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Biography
Born in 1867 in Asia Minor in a Greek Orthodox family.
He graduated from the Tiflis Theological Seminary. March 21, 1893 ordained to the rank of deacon. On March 25, 1893, he was ordained a priest and appointed to the John the Baptist Church of the village of Pavlovsky, Sukhumi Diocese of the Georgian Exarchate . At the same time, the head and teacher of the Pavlovsk parish school.
On May 10, 1893, he was appointed acting dean of the 6th district of the Sukhumi diocese.
On January 24, 1894, he was approved as dean of the 6th district of the Sukhumi diocese.
Since March 9, 1894 - a priest of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral of the city of Sukhum. At the same time, since 1894, he was the law teacher of the Sukhumi female gymnasium. On January 22, 1895 he was awarded a plait. In 1902 he was awarded the velvet purple scoop.
Since February 17, 1905 - a priest of the St. George Cemetery Church in the city of Sukhum. April 12, 1906 was awarded a kamilavka.
In 1910, he was appointed Dean of the 2nd District of the Sukhumi Diocese and the legal teacher of the Sukhumi Gymnasium. March 28, 1911 was awarded the pectoral cross issued by the Holy Synod. March 27, 1914 was awarded the rank of archpriest. June 1, 1914 elevated to the rank of archpriest.
In July 1916, through the efforts of Archpriest Avraamy Ivanov, a two-year parish school with special departments of economics and agriculture was opened in Sukhumi [1] .
In 1917 he was appointed rector of the St. George Cemetery Church in the city of Sukhum and the dean of the churches of the 2nd district of the Sukhum diocese. Widowed.
In 1922 he moved to renovationism. Took a ryasophor. June 3, 1923 in Krasnodar he was consecrated bishop of Sukhumi, vicar of the Kuban Renovationist diocese. The consecration was headed by Archbishop John (Levitsky) .
March 31, 1924 appointed bishop of Sukhumi and Tiflis, chairman of the renovation Sukhumi diocesan administration, with the elevation to the rank of archbishop .
In June 1924 he was a member of the renovationist All-Russian Pre-Council meeting.
In October 1925, he was a member of the "Third All-Russian Local Council" (second renovationist).
February 2, 1927 passed into the jurisdiction of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
He died before 1930. He was buried at the St. George Church Cemetery in the city of Sukhum. In the 1950s, the cemetery was demolished.
