Dmitry Iosifovich Matsukov - a figure of science and the defense industry of the USSR.

Candidate of technical sciences, winner of the Lenin Prize [1] , holder of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, corresponding member of RARAN [2] , Honored Designer of the Russian Federation.

Graduate of the Leningrad Technical Institute. Lensoveta 1953, candidate of technical sciences, in 1954-1973 worked as a researcher at the Central Research Institute of the Navy of the USSR and by that time was a recognized expert in the field of creating a methodology and practice for designing combat units of guided weapons of all types of basing [1] .

In 1978-2002 Dmitry Iosifovich - head of the department, then - deputy director for scientific work and 1st deputy director of FSUE “GosNIImash”. Supervised the testing of naval weapons on the effectiveness of the destructive action, including firing at target ships in full-scale conditions. Dmitry Iosifovich was one of the creators of a unified system of source data and a logical-statistical method for evaluating the effectiveness of weapons in an application for guided anti-ship weapons [1] . He took part directly in the development and development of combat equipment of the Navy’s cruise missiles, starting with the first generations (P-6), subsequent modifications, including the Granit, Mosquito, Onyx cruise missiles that were widely known. He led the development of warheads for the KAB X-22M air-to-surface cruise missiles and subsequent ones in this series, worked on the creation of warheads for the Zapad, Zagon, and Rainfall anti-submarine systems. [2]
