Biography
He studied at the University of Heidelberg and Berlin , at the age of 22 defending his last doctorate in 1868. Apprentice Heinrich Magnus .
In the years 1870-1878 he taught at the secondary school. Sofia in Berlin. He took part in the Franco-Prussian war (1870-1871) .
He lectured at the universities of Halle and Karlsruhe and conducted research at the University of Greifswald and Tübingen [1] .
Known as the creator of a device used to study rotational motion, called the Oberbek pendulum .
