Vasily Alekseevich Kolmykov ( 1826 - 1887 ) - Russian lieutenant general.
Came from the nobility of the Smolensk province . In August 1842 he was released from the Noble Regiment to equestrian artillery. For the difference rendered under Evpatoria, promoted to captain. In 1869, for 25 years of service, he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree with a bow, in 1870 - St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree ..
In August 1873 he was promoted to major general . During the war of 1877-1878. commanded the artillery of the 11th corps , then the artillery of the 14th corps ; commanded the entire artillery collected to demonstrate the crossing at Turtukai on June 14, then - artillery during the attack of Plevna on July 18 and, finally, at Bazardzhik - on January 12, 14 and 15, 1878; often personally displayed and installed batteries in positions. For actions during the war he received a gold saber with the inscription "for courage" , the Order of St. Stanislav 1st degree with swords and the Order of St. Anna of the 1st degree with swords.
He was the chief of artillery of the 13th army corps ; May 15, 1883 promoted to lieutenant general .
In 1886, for health reasons, retired.
He died on February 26 ( March 10 ), 1887 . He was buried, presumably, at the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Oranienbaum (now the city of Lomonosov ).
