Career
Mbwana Matumma made his debut in the professional ring on October 12, 1997, defeating Musu Njue (4-5-1) by knockout in the third round. On July 23, 2000, in a fight against James, Vanene won the WBA Intercontinental Champion title . On December 16 of that year, he won the PABA title. On February 28, 2003, he was defeated by previously invincible South African boxer Gabul Wabez in a fight for the WBU world title. September 9, 2004 won the vacant WBA African title , but lost it on April 25, 2006.
November 4, 2006 won the vacant IBO world light heavyweight champion title . On May 12, 2007, he was defeated by technical knockout in the 5th round in the battle for the vacant IBO world lightweight champion title. December 19, 2009 won the vacant UBO Intercontinental Champion title. On August 28, 2008, he was defeated in the battle for the silver belt of the WBC international champion. The last match was held on February 5, 2017 against Selman Shabani, who had 2 losses and 1 draw.
