Vadim Nikolaevich Tsytovich (born March 17, 1929 - October 9, 2015 ) is a Russian and Soviet theoretical physicist , doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor , chief researcher at the A. M. Prokhorov General Physics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 1990 . Prize Laureate MV Lomonosov Academy of Sciences of the USSR for a series of works “Interaction of fast particles and electromagnetic radiation in a highly nonequilibrium plasma” [1] .

Biography
Vadim Tsytovich was born in the village of Mkhinichi, Cherikovsky district , Mogilev province [2] . He studied at the Faculty of Physics in Leningrad, and then at Moscow State University . He worked at the Department of Theoretical Physics of Moscow State University at the Physics Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences (LPI) . In 1962 he defended his doctoral dissertation in Dubna [3] .
In the 1960-1970s. participated in research of new plasma effects, including in the field of astrophysics. In the 1970-1980s. The area of scientific interests was the theory of transition radiation and transition scattering. Since the 1990s chief researcher at the A. M. Prokhorov Institute of General Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences, professor at the Department of Problems of Physics and Astrophysics, MIPT, gave a course of lectures on plasma physics [4] .
