Steinbrick, Bruno Yakovlevich

Biography

Born September 21, 1932 in the city of Talsi ( Latvia ) in a working class family.

Since 1950, after graduating from high school, he studied at the Riga Cooperative College for one year. Since 1951, in the bodies of the NKVD of the USSR . Since 1953, after graduating from special school No. 303 of the Ministry of State Security of the USSR, he served as an operative officer of the 3rd Division of the 1st Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Latvian SSR . Since 1954, the security officer, senior security officer of the 2nd branch of the KGB Counterintelligence Division under the Council of Ministers of the Latvian SSR.

Since 1960, after graduating from the KGB Higher School at the Council of Ministers of the USSR , he was a senior operative officer, since 1962 he was deputy chief and since 1963 the head of the 1st branch of the KGB Counter-Intelligence Division under the Council of Ministers of the Latvian SSR. Since 1983, First Deputy Minister of the Interior of the Latvian SSR . Since 1984, First Deputy Head and Head of the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs . Since 1986, Minister of the Interior of the Latvian SSR . Since 1991, the head of the Special Department (military counterintelligence) of the Baltic border district .
