Biography
Alexander Petrosyan was born in Lviv in 1965 in a creative family: father - Armenian, musician and composer from Georgia, mother - Ukrainian, singer from Ukraine. In childhood, attended a music school, where he successfully studied.
Creative activity
Interest in photography manifested itself at the age of 14 after receiving the Smena-8 camera on its birthday.
Seriously took up photography in 2000.
In 2003-2008 he worked as a photojournalist in the city weekly "My District"
Since 2010, he has been working in Kommersant as a full-time photographer.
Author of illustrations for the magazines Newsweek , National Geographic , GEO , Russian Reporter , Spark , Money , Power , as well as in Kommersant , Izvestia , Arguments and Facts ”,“ Komsomolskaya Pravda ”,“ Business Petersburg ”and others [1] [2] .
Prizes
2003 - Award of Exellence in the category of “photojournalism” at the 25th world competition “ Community of New Design ” in the city of Syracuse (New York, USA).
2006, 2007 - winner in the St. Petersburg Photographer of the Year Award (nomination: photo report).
2008 - winner of the second All-Russian photo contest “My city. A look through the lens ” [3] .
2009 - Grand Prix of the Photojournalism Development Fund Prize [4] , also 1st place in the nominations “Everyday Life”; “Nature and environment”, 3rd place “culture and art”.
2009 - the first open national award "best photographer" - 1st place in the nomination "architecture" [5]
2011 - the first open national award "best photographer" - 1st [6] in the nomination "genre".
2018 is a victory in the nomination “Photo of the Year” at the “Golden Pere” [7] .
