Biography

Born in 1994 in Kyoto ( Japan ) in a family of immigrants from Korea. Since childhood, he studied judo, being a student at Tsukuba University, even became the champion of Japan among students in 2013, but due to the lack of Japanese citizenship he could not take part in international competitions.

Since 2014, he began to play for the Republic of Korea, becoming the world champion among juniors. Moving into the adult category, in 2015 he won the Asian Championship and won the bronze medal of the World Championship, and also became the champion of the Universiade. In 2017, he won bronze medals at the World Championships in the individual and team championships. In 2018, he became the world champion and silver medalist of the Asian Games.
