Vienna cricket

FC Vienne Cricket ( it. Vienna Cricket and Football-Club ) - Austrian football club, located in Vienna . Founded August 23, 1894. It is the oldest club in Austria. Currently known as a center for athletics and tennis, but gained fame thanks to its former football team.

History

The club was founded by the British Association in 1892 and had the name Vienna Cricket Club Wien . The only sport that was practiced was English cricket . When the British realized that cricket was not gaining such popularity as football, it was decided to add a football team to the club. The name was changed to Vienna Cricket and Football-Club . The co-founder and board member of the club was the British John Gramlick , the future founder of the Challenge Cup . The club constantly competed for the title of the oldest club in Austria with FC First Vann , and on the field their derby constantly gathered a large number of spectators.

  • Ludwig Gussak - a participant in the Summer Olympic Games of 1912, who played 14 matches for Avtriya's national team and scored 5 goals.
  • Rudolf Wagner - goalkeeper FC Fenna Cricket.
