Candice Melonakos ( born Kandice Melonakos ; born December 20, 1987, Augsburg , Germany ), is best known by the pseudonym Lola Blanc ( English Lola Blanc ) - an American singer, actress, writer and model. Described as “rising star” and “boudoir beauty” Playboy [1] , “funky pop singer” from Vibe.com [2] , “one cocky chick” from Refinery29 [3] and “one of those worth a look ”from Ladygunn Magazine [4] . She is a co-author of the 2013 Britney Spears song “ Ooh La La ”, which was successful in the charts , which in 2014 reached the 3rd place in Next Big Sound chart [5] .

Biography

Born in Bavaria, Germany, she grew up mainly on a farm in Fremont , Michigan . She was raised by a Mormon father of Greek-American descent, who worked for the CIA and the mother of a motivational speaker [7] . For most of her childhood, she wrote songs and acted as a ventriloquist and auctioneer [8] with her mother and brother, who performed magic and escape art. [9] .

When Blanc was not even ten years old, her mother fell under the influence of a swindler who posed as a senior hierarch Mormon church . Playing on the religious feelings of the mother, he involved her in his community, where she became a victim of trafficking . Blank discovered her mother’s correspondence with the “prophet” and also believed him. She was separated from her mother until one of the sectarians, having lost faith in the "prophet," contributed to family reunification [10] . In the end, Blank moved to Los Angeles, where he now lives and makes music.

Career

Lola Blank wrote songs and collaborated with authors such as Sophie , Ammo , Fernando Garibei , Jimmy Harry , John Levine and etc.

Initially, Blank wrote along with Francesca Hall and producer Ammo Britney Spears " Ooh La La " song for her own project; the name of the song beat her name. When Dr. Luke heard this, he thought it would be a perfect project for Spears and asked Bonnie Mackey and J. Kash to rewrite the text so that the song better matches Spears and the movie “The Smurfs 2 ” [11] .

Acting

She starred in such television series as CBS , American Horror Story: Hotel and Life in detail ; also appeared in several short indie films. In 2011, she played the role of the green-eyed girl in the film Joshua Leonard , Lies . In 2015, she played the Undertaker role in Max Lendis' online short film , “Fighting is not a struggle” [12] .

Collaborations

Blank photographs and collaborates with fashion brands including Vera Wang Princess , Make Up For Ever , Pinup Girl Clothing and Lime Crime Makeup. YouTube person Michelle Fan used several Blanc songs in her videos (Shangri-La, April Fools and Bad Tattoo) [13] [14] .

Blank also starred in several music videos; starred in the Interpol music video for the song “ Lights ” [15] and in the Tiger Army video “Prisoner of the Night” [16] , as well as in the LMFAO video “ Sexy and I Know It ” [17] and in the Lifehouse video on the song " Halfway Gone " [18] .
