SystematicsThis species was described in 2014 by primatologist Laura Marsh along with four other species of Saki according to the results of a morphological analysis of the available samples of these primates. The results were published in the journal Neotropical Primates. Species name in honor of primatologist Russell Mittermeyer. [one]
DescriptionAdult males have long white stripes with a silvery sheen on mostly black wool, while the limbs are covered with shorter white hair. Have an orange collar around the head. The females' hair is darker, especially at a young age. Body length from 35 to 46 cm, tail length from 41 to 49 cm. [2]
SpreadThe endemic of Brazil , where it occurs south of the Amazon between the rivers Tapajos and Madeira . [2]
