Godzilla (song)

“ Godzilla ” is the tenth single of the American hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult from their fifth album, Specters . The lyrics of the song is a delicate tribute to the popular movie monster of the same name . Despite the failure in the charts, the song often sounded on rock radio stations [3] and became a sleeping hit . Along with “ (Don't Fear) The Reaper ” and “ Burnin 'for You ”, the song became one of the most famous in the Blue Öyster Cult repertoire and was often performed by them at concerts. She was re-chanted by bands and artists like moe. , Racer X , Fu Manchu , The Smashing Pumpkins , Sebastian Bach and Fighting Gravity [4] .

Parodies

In response to the lack of a song in the soundtrack of the 1998 Godzilla film, Blue Öyster Cult musicians Eric Bloom and Bak Dharma made a parody called “NoZilla” [5] , which was intended only for radio stations.

Another Chinchilla parody was performed by the fictional character Donnie Baker (played by comedian Ron Sexton) in his famous Kentucky accent on the Bob & Tom Show radio show.
