The monument to Dmitry Pryanishnikov is a monument to Dmitry Pryanishnikov , the Russian agrochemist, biochemist and plant physiologist , the founder of the Soviet scientific school in agronomic chemistry . On May 7, 1948, the Council of Ministers of the USSR decided by 1950 to erect a monument to a scientist on the territory of the Kliment Timiryazev Agricultural Academy [1] [2] [3] . However, the memorial was opened much later - on August 14, 1973. The authors of the project are sculptors Olga Vladimirovna Kvinikhidze and Gavriil Schulz , architects G. G. Lebedev and Vasily Petrov [4] [5] [6] . In 2011, the monument was given the status of a revealed cultural heritage object [7] .

The bronze statue depicts a scientist in full growth. He is wearing a three-piece suit and coat. His head is slightly tilted down, his face is thoughtful, his left hand is lowered into his trouser pocket. Nearby is a sheaf of bread ears. The sculpture is placed on a granite pedestal with a commemorative plaque on which the inscription is inscribed: "Dmitry Nikolaevich Pryanishnikov 1865-1948" [8] [9] [10] .
