History
The group was formed in 2000 by guitarist / keyboardist / songwriter Nick van Dyke. Van Dyke, who grew up studying classical piano before moving on to a guitar as a teenager, was a businessman, and he recorded music primarily as a hobby. After a chance meeting with vocalist Ray Alder from progressive metal band Fates Warning and Bernie Versailles, also known for working in Agent Steel , he showed them demos of his compositions. Alder liked what he heard and he suggested creating demos in order to show the owners of some record labels, for which Van Dyke hired several famous musicians: Symphony X drummer Jason Rullo, Steel Prophet vocalist Rick Mitiasina. After concluding a contract with Sensory records, work began on the first disc, in which Alder himself and drummer Mark Zonder from Fates Warning participated, and Symphony X guitarist Michael Romeo organized recordings of orchestra inserts. Versailles and Van Dyke played the guitars on their debut CD, and Van Dyke also recorded bass and keyboards.
