Career
In the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft, Mikolas was selected as the “ San Diego Padres ” in the seventh round. In 2011, during a performance in the Arizona Autumn League, before one of the matches, Miles ate a live lizard, after which he received the nickname Lizard King from his partners. In the main team, he made his debut in 2012 and played for the club in 25 matches, scoring two victories with one defeat and an ERA 3.62 transmittance. Miles spent most of the 2013 season in the Tucson Padres in the AAA League, making 26 saves in 54 games. On November 20, the Padres put him on a rejection draft, after which Mikolas moved to the Pittsburgh Pirates . On December 30, Miles was traded to the Texas Rangers [1] [2] .
After spending the 2014 season at the Rangers, Mikolas went to play in Japan for the next three years. From 2015 to 2017, he acted as the starting pitcher of the Yomiuri Giants club. In the last year of performances, Miles was the best in the Central League in terms of the number of strike outs and played innings [2] .
In December 2017, he returned to Major League Baseball, signing a two-year contract with the St. Louis Cardinals [2] . In the summer of 2018, according to the results of the fans' vote, Mikolas received an invitation to the All-Star Game, but did not take part in the game due to entering the field in the regular season a few days earlier. His place in the composition was taken by the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Ross Stripling [3] .
