Locals who were shown a photograph of this primate in order to find out its habitat called it “zogzog” [3] [4] .

Endemic to Brazil . It occurs between the rivers Tapajos and Madeira . The ranges of related species Plecturocebus bernhardi , Plecturocebus cinerascens, and Plecturocebus hoffmannsi in this area may overlap. Perhaps also found in the reserve of Alta Flores in the state of Mato Grosso [6] .
Population Status
In 2008, the International Union for Conservation of Nature assigned this taxon the conservation status of Least Concerns (LC). Significant threats to the population were not identified [6] .
