Story
The wandering peddler Tora-san returns home to Katsushika, where he is met by Uncle Tatsuzo, Aunt Tsune and Sakura's sister. However, while Tora-san was wandering, a tenant, electrician Ryosuke, also known as Mr. Watt, was allowed into his room. Uncle and aunt own a sweet shop, and since they were recently besieged by competing merchants, they ordered their tenant Ryosuke to make a sign for them that says "No merchants are admitted," posted directly in front of the shop. And, of course, the returning Torajiro takes this as an attack on him (after all, he is also a merchant) and almost immediately Tora and Ryosuke bite into each other's throats.
However, they will soon make friends and visit the Pachinko slot machine salon together. Tora-san learns that the shy, awkward Ryosuke is in love with the waitress Satiko and visits the restaurant where she works every day. Since Ryosuke is even more awkward and fat than Tora-san, the merchant takes him under his guardianship, deciding to unite the young lovers. Naturally, the advice of Thorsan only exacerbates the situation, leading to the most catastrophic consequences. Ryosuke loses hope and even tries to take his own life. When the suicide attempt failed, he leaves for his hometown of Hirado (near Nagasaki). Tora-san follows him and falls in love with Ryosuke's sister, Fujiko.
