A referendum in Switzerland on real estate was held on July 2, 1967 [1] . Voters were asked if they approve of the civil initiative “against real estate speculation”. The initiative proposed, in particular, a limitation in real estate prices and the possibility in some cases of expropriation of real estate. The proposal was rejected by both the majority of voters and the majority of cantons [1] .
Election System
The proposal to combat real estate speculation was a civic initiative and required a double majority for approval [2] .
