Referendums in Switzerland (1961)

The referendums in Switzerland were held on March 5, October 22 and December 1961 ^[1] . In March, a referendum was held on a constitutional amendment concerning oil pipelines and on a fuel tax to finance national roads. The constitutional amendment was approved, and the fuel tax proposal was rejected ^[1] . The October referendum on civil initiative to introduce Article 93 bis into the Constitution on civil initiative, which can be submitted to a referendum after collecting 50 thousand signatures or 8 cantons. The proposal was rejected ^[1] . In December, a referendum was held on a federal resolution on the watch industry. It was approved by 67% of the vote ^[1] .
